Perfume-Demeter Fragrance-Angel Food, Egg Nog, Cinnamon Bun, Fresh Ginger, Dirt, Thunderstorm, Holy Smoke

  • Angel Food by Demeter

Angel Food, to me, is a slightly tropical sister of Vanilla Batter. It is creamy, vanilla-y, with a hint of coconut. Somehow I find the coconut accord weirdly slightly floralised by the vanilla note, and somewhat reminescents gardenia every now and then. Since I’m not a fan of gardenia, somewhat the seemingly innocent Angel Food actually gives me minor headaches. Overall, when smelt from a distance, Angel Food is quite true to its name, possiblely a little bit drier than the real thing and this makes the scent somehow smells like butter cookies with a hint of coconut flavor. Not bad at all.
I’d say this is another vanilla-y scent which can be worn anytime when you do not really care what you are going to wear for the day, but still want to be slightly scented, assuming you do not dislike vanilla scents.

  • Egg Nog  by Demeter
Egg Nog smells pretty much the same as the real thing in the beginning. I guess this is one of the Demeter scent, in which the alcohol actually does a positive job. As time goes by, Egg Nog smells a bit more vanilla-y creamy with a dash of cinnamon-y spiceness.
Nice scent to have if linear vanilla creamy cake-y foody scent is your thing.

  • Cinnamon Bun  by Demeter
Cinnamon Bun starts off rather monotoned cinnamon and turns into some nice combanation of cinnamon and slightly milky vanilla-y background. Very nice scent for the cooler days and to me, it is definitely a pick-me-up scent.

  • Fresh Ginger  by Demeter
Fresh Ginger is more like ginger beer to me, slightly sweetened than the nature ginger. Lovely uplifting scent with some quasi-herbal/aromatherapy quality.  However, as most of Demeter scents, it is really short-lived.

  • Dirt  by Demeter
Don’t be fooled by the name, I know Demeter is famous for its realistic scents, but Dirt is not as earth/dirty/realist as the real smell of dirt. Instead, Dirt has this perculiar sweet/saw-dust/white-wood smell in it, which makes it a little bit oriental woody to me. It’s like a perfect wood-infused version of vanilla plus cinnamon, with a hint of saltry sour peachy woody notes, and I can see it being worn as a skin scent. Well done Demeter!

  • Thunderstorm  by Demeter
Thunderstorm smells of green, fresh, lush vegetation to me. Even thogh it does reminds me the dirt smell mixed with tree leaves when it was raining heavily, Thunderstorm makes me think more about freshly cut grass instead. However, I find there’s something a bit too sports-perfume-type-of-aquatic in this, which I’m quite uneasy with. Oh well, it’s not a scent I would actually wear anyway, I’ll pass this one.

  • Holy Smoke  by Demeter
Holy Smoke is like Lapsang Souchong  tea in a bottle, really smokey and slightly tart, near-rubbery. I personally don’t mind this smell, however, to wear something like Lapsang Souchong isn’t something I would encourage people to do, unless the person have some Lapsang Souchong fetish. I guess this is another Demeter scent which I would only appreciate the realistic-ness of it, while swaring to myself I’ll never wear it to the public.
